A few days ago I posted about the 30 Day Challenge from Earl Nightingale. I said I was going to do it, and I fully intend to do it and document my progress or lack of progress. So, just to keep me on track, here is the challenge set forth by Earl himself in 1956, and guarantees to change your life. This has come from a recording ‘The Strangest Secret’, which you can watch here: The Strangest Secret
Write on a card what you want more than anything else. Single goal, clearly defined.
Think of it each day with optimism. Remember – you must become what you think about, it’s the law
Stop thinking about what it is you fear, replace it with a positive though – control your thinking
Do more than you have to
Give of yourself more
Don’t concern yourself with how you are going to achieve the goal, just where are you going. The answers will come to you.
If you let a negative thought enter your mind and you do not replace it, you must start the 30 day test again.
We can achieve nothing, without first paying the price.
Act as though it was impossible to fail
Control your thoughts
Limitations are self imposed
Have courage
Use your imagination
ACTION: Act promptly & decisively
Save 10% of your income
Put this on the back of your goal card.
Ask and it shall be given unto you
Seek and ye shall find
Knock and it shall be opened onto you
For everyone that asketh, receiveth
And he that seeketh, findeth
And to him that knocked, it shall be opened
I’ve been trying to practice redirecting my negative self talk into positive for the last few days. I’ve been trying for years, but the last few days I have actually put in more effort than usual. So, I guess that’s a start.
Areas in my life that I want to improve, my weight, my career, and my mental state. I have the ability to change my life by changing my perspective. I just need to work on it. It’s so easy to fall back into bad habits because they’re comfortable and bring security. And honestly, I never thought of myself as successful or inspirational or anything like that. I just see myself as a person trying to muddle through this crazy world. Maybe that’s the first perspective I need to change.
Anyway, I got my card, with my goal…How about you?
